Looking for a professional responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing facility, with a primary focus on implementing and maintaining lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity by identifying and eliminating unnecessary steps in the production process, while ensuring high quality standards are met
Essential Functions
- Analyzing production processes: Using tools like value stream mapping to identify areas of waste and inefficiencies within the production workflow.
- Implementing lean methodologies: Actively applying lean principles like "just-in-time" inventory, continuous improvement (Kaizen), and pull systems to streamline operations.
- Team collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams across the production floor to identify and implement improvements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Performance monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) like cycle time, lead time, and defect rates to measure the effectiveness of lean initiatives.
- Training and development: Educating employees on lean principles and methodologies to ensure widespread understanding and participation in improvement efforts.
- Problem-solving: Identifying root causes of production issues and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Job Qualifications
Required
- Six Sigma and/or Total Productive Management education or experience.
- Prior use of statistical tools/methodologies, computers, quality methods, and basic financial principles.
- Ability to manage change.
- Experience in leading teams.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management.
- Ability to focus on understanding and exceeding expectations of the customer.
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict to reach consensus and common goals.
Preferred
- Technical Degree.
- Certified 6 Sigma Green Belt.
- Minimum 5-years of industrial experience, including 2 years in a leadership position.
Environment
- Works in an office with normal office noise levels.
- Will spend 50% of time on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels which requires use of personal protective equipment.
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
