Job Summary :
Under the direction of the Chief Programs Officer, Supportive Housing Director I oversees multiple housing programs including our Housing support program, ensuring timely and innovative program start-up and operations that reflect best practices. This position also ensures that programs align with Chief Seattle Club's mission, vision, and values, and responds effectively to community needs.
The likely candidate will have strong critical thinking, research, information management, and exemplary communication skills. Experience with evaluation methodology is also desirable, in addition to experience working with urban Native American / Alaska Native populations.
About Us : Chief Seattle Club is a culturally specific non-profit dedicated to addressing chronic homelessness among Native American and Alaska Native communities. We focus on providing emergency services, non-congregate shelter solutions, and supportive housing with an emphasis on affirming positive Native identity and creating Sacred space for the urban Native community in Seattle and King County.
Essential Job Functions :
- Communicate with CPO on regular basis and attend all CSC / leadership meetings.
- Meets identified performance indicators, contract mandates, quality-improvement goals, and reporting on results.
- Identifies areas for new programs, services, growth, and enhancements.
- Perform data collection, evaluation, and analysis using platforms, which may include, but not be limited to Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
- Hires and supervises managers and supervisors for housing developments and supports staff and their teams to provide culturally responsive, housing stabilization services to members living at Chief Seattle Club properties.
- Ensures staff receives appropriate training and education regarding job duties, cross-collaborative efforts, and program development activities.
- Ensures that managers and support staff have adequate support and identify gaps in current systems.
- Seeks efficiency, information sharing, and data sharing in partnership with IT, HR, and CPO.
- Works in collaboration with other departments to ensure accurate and effective monitoring of programs, data collection, contract implementation, and program outcomes.
- Works with other departments to ensure issues and concerns that are raised are properly addressed and that all supportive services are well planned, delivered, and coordinated across relevant teams.
- Work collaboratively with other leadership and program staff to review, analyze, and stay abreast of emerging best practices for housing services and regulations for public funding streams.
- Work closely with Traditional Services team to ensure all residential sites are sacred spaces where members are supported, cared for, and successfully maintain their housing long term.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or equivalent experience in related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience : 5-8 years of experience managing large teams (within Homeless services or other health and human services is preferred).

Physical Requirements :
Most positions at CSC are exposed to members of the community who have experienced or are experiencing trauma in various forms including but not limited to : domestic violence, sexual violence, homelessness, unemployment, financial hardship, etc. As a result, staff are at risk of secondary trauma. Employees are encouraged to seek external support and maintain self-care when working indirectly or directly with clients. Mental health care referrals for employees are available.
