Job Description
Job Summary: The deli clerk is responsible for the stocking and selling of deli product, preparation, following proper sanitation standards, and providing efficient and courteous customer service. Must follow food safety guidelines.
Major duties:
- Waits on customers in a prompt, courteous, accurate, and efficient manner, uses suggestive selling, and maintains high quality customer relations.
- Prepares, handles, stocks and/or stores all deli products.
- Rotates all deli product on a first in / first out basis.
- Sees that all deli product is stored in proper refrigeration.
- Stocks and services deli case with product within the guideline established by the deli manager.
- Is trained in making pizza, party trays, salads, and sandwiches.
- Follows regular cleaning schedule for equipment and cases.
- Is totally familiar with equipment and operates (scales and slicers).
- Is totally familiar with weights and measures standards and the proper use of container and packaging materials.
Minor duties:
- Does price changes as requested.
- Operate stock dollies, mixing machine, slicers, ovens, scale, fryers, pricing equipment, and use knives and case cutters.
- When necessary, waits on bakery customers.
- Provide verbal and physical assistance to customers.
- Follow recipes.
- Keep company recipes confidential.
- Performs freshness check and recondition product.
- Operate hydraulic baler.
- Perform sweeping, mopping, and cleaning functions.
- Operate telephones and intercoms and practice proper telephone etiquette.
- Follows all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Read and write.
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Lift and stack up to 50 pounds.
- Pull or push wheeled vehicles weighing up to 500 pounds.
- Reach and stock product up to 6 ft. high.

Job Summary: Operate the cash register to check out customers in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner, with all sales and transactions properly recorded and collected according to company policies and procedures.
Major duties:
- Check out customers promptly, courteously, efficiently, and accurately
- Knowledge of equipment
- Keep work area clean and stocked at all times
- Knowledge of current ad and all other information posted by head cashier or manager
- Count till in and out, and maintain required balance
- Maintain courteous and friendly customer relations
- Report customer complaints to the manager
Minor duties:
- Provide verbal and physical assistance to customers
- Maintains alertness for shoplifting and notifies management.
- Order product to fill shelves when assigned
- Stock shelves and racks when assigned
- Perform sweeping and cleaning functions
- Operate telephones and intercoms and practice proper telephone etiquette.
- Follow all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Cashier Training Manual and Employee Handbook
- Performs other duties as assigned
Relationships: Reports to Office Manager. Supervises no one. Assists and cooperates with other cashiers where needed to benefit the front end operation.
