JOB FUNCTION: The deli clerk is responsible for the stocking and selling of deli products, preparation, following proper sanitation standards, and providing prompt, efficient, and courteous customer service. Must follow food safety guidelines and all company policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Wait on customers in a prompt, courteous, accurate, and efficient manner, use suggestive selling, and maintain high-quality customer relations.
- Prepares, handles, stocks, and stores all deli products.
- Rotates all deli products on a first-in / first-out basis.
- Sees that all deli product is stored in proper refrigeration.
- Stocks and services the deli case with products within the guidelines established by the deli manager.
- Is trained in preparing all products available for sale in the deli.
- Follows regular cleaning schedule for equipment and cases.
- Is familiar with equipment and equipment operations used in the deli.
- Is familiar with weights and measures standards and the proper use of container and packaging materials.
- Completes price changes as requested.
- Assist in the bakery if required.
- Provide verbal and physical assistance to customers.
- Follow recipes in the production of all product preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality of all company recipes.
- Performs freshness check and recondition product.
- Operate hydraulic baler.
- Perform sweeping, mopping, and cleaning functions.
- Operate telephones and intercoms and practice proper telephone etiquette.
- Follows all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
