Police Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Police Officers. As a Police Officer with the Chiefland Police Department, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our community, working closely with our team to maintain public safety and order.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce laws and regulations within the city of Chiefland, ensuring public safety and order.
  • Conduct routine patrols to deter and detect criminal activity, preventing crimes from occurring.
  • Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, providing assistance and support when needed.
  • Investigate crimes, accidents, and incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to ensure justice is served.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports for court and departmental use, maintaining transparency and accountability.

Requirements:


  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice is preferred.
  • Certification by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) or currently enrolled in a Florida-approved law enforcement academy.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and professionalism.
