Job Summary:
We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Police Officers. As a Police Officer with the Chiefland Police Department, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our community, working closely with our team to maintain public safety and order.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce laws and regulations within the city of Chiefland, ensuring public safety and order.
- Conduct routine patrols to deter and detect criminal activity, preventing crimes from occurring.
- Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, providing assistance and support when needed.
- Investigate crimes, accidents, and incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to ensure justice is served.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports for court and departmental use, maintaining transparency and accountability.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice is preferred.
- Certification by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) or currently enrolled in a Florida-approved law enforcement academy.
- Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
