CARS an Equal Opportunity Employer is seeking a full time Family Support Specialist working in Martin/Daviess Counties may include occasional travel to Knox and Orange Counties.
This position will be working with or providing services to children and families; knowledge of cultural humility and an ability to establish trusting relationships a plus.High School diploma or G.E.D. with knowledge of infant and child development required.The Family Support Specialist (FSS) is responsible for initiating and maintaining regular (at least weekly) and long-term (up to five years) contact/support with families. This activity will occur primarily within the family’s home and be intensive (each visit should last for at least one hour). The interventions should be family-centered and strength-based and be directed at establishing a trusting relationship; assist in strengthening the parent-child relationship; assist parents in improving their skills to optimize the home environment; improving the family support system; and increasing the family’s ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children.

Pay: $16.71 per hour
