Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Interviewer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role as a member of the MDT team. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work as a team, perform effective interviews with children. This person must be detail oriented and able to complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Conduct interviews with children to gather information for the MDTs.
- Remain current with trends and research in the field of child forensic interviews.
- Testify in court as an expert witness.
- Knowledgeable of the roles of the various MDT members.
- Remain current on new forensic interview training.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while handling sensitive information.
- Participate in the evaluation, quality control, and future development of the CAC program.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Social Work or Criminal Justice with at least 2 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in Social work or Criminal Justice with 5 years experience.
- Experience working with children.
- Strong skills in time management to ensure all processes are completed for each interview.
- Ability to work as a team to support the children and families in crisis.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required for effective interviewing.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding towards individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Must be able to work independently without much oversight.
- Previous experience in child welfare is a plus.
- Must be able to work after hours and weekends for emergency interviews when needed.
