What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Specialist (Office of Thriving Families) position at Child and Family Services Agcy?
This position is located at the Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA), Office of the Director (OD), Office of Thriving Families (OTF) Community Partnerships Administration (CPA). The primary purpose of this position is to provide full administrative and technical support to OTF Prevention Portfolios and programs and is responsible for improving the various policies and operational procedures, while evaluating and improving the efficiency and productivity of programs and underlying activities and initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Specialist duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plans, develop and conduct program analyses of substantial scale and impact concerning all aspects of current or projected operating programs for actual or potential effectiveness and quality in achieving planned goals and objectives.
- Analyzes extracts, summarizes, and identifies significant trends and issues related to the programs; provides recommendations as appropriate, and tracks issues through to resolution.
- Communicates information to management for effective assessments of program operations and milestones.
- Evaluates the impact of data on program operations and management, including systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.
- Ensure that reports are developed to provide the necessary data for usage by the management team as well as other key Administration specialists.
- Forecasts and estimates program requirements and prepares programmatic reports, justifications, charts, graphs, statistical and narrative data, etc., for top level presentations and briefings.
- Assists in the development of grants and sub‐grant contracts, and develops grant program evaluation plans, processes, and methodologies.
- Maintains records of current grants and ensures all records are supported by appropriate documentation and that all departmental requirements for reporting are met.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education
Must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level in the District of Columbia government service or its non-District equivalent. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position including, but are not limited to, providing technical guidance and advice based on analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data or similar duties.
Bachelor's Degree with concentration in qualitative and quantitative analysis is highly preferred.
At least three years of related experience in data gathering and analysis in grant management implementation, community organizing, outreach, engagement, and outreach activities is highly preferred.
