What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Youth Advisor position at Child and Family Services of Northwestern Michigan?
The Youth Advisor is responsible for working with youth participating in the Independent Living Plus program by providing supervision and care for youth in the Staff Supported Housing Unit. The Youth Advisor will be responsible for adherence to daily schedules and routines, meal prep and cooking with youth, chore monitoring and assistance, daily independent living skill building activities, medication administration, transportation of youth to school, work, extra curricular activities, assistance with homework, and spending quality mentorship time with youth in the program. The Youth Advisor will assist youth in developing and strengthening the necessary skills for living independently and transitioning successfully to adulthood.
Afternoon, weekend, and evening shifts will include more direct interaction with youth. Overnight shifts will interact as needed, but worker is also able to rest/sleep, while youth are resting/sleeping.
