What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-Home Respite Child Care Provider position at Child Care Aware of America?
Summary of Position: In-Home Respite Child Care Providers provide a fun and stimulating learning environment for children from birth through 18 years of age while also caring for their specific needs and ensuring their safety. Providers maintain an open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with the child and their family while working within the family’s home.
Qualifications:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or higher in Early ChildhoodEducation or Special Education preferred.
- Experience working with children with special care or educational needs required.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
- Access to reliable transportation to and from respite care appointments necessary.
- Training in Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) prevention; child and domestic abuse prevention, identification, and reporting; and medication administration, required and updated annually.
- Current First Aid and CPR (including Pediatric) training and updated regularly.
- Comprehensive criminal background checks performed every 5 years.
