Salary: $50,000 FLSA status: Full-Time (40 hrs./week), Exempt
Job Statement: The primary focus of this grant-funded position is to coordinate community engagement efforts related to child care access and support initiatives. This includes scheduling and facilitating meetings, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders—including child care providers, parents, business owners, economic development organizations, and community leaders—and supporting the alignment of regional priorities. Initially, this position will assess existing plans and initiatives to identify shared priorities and opportunities for collaboration. The Community Programs Coordinator reports to the Community Programs Director. This position requires regular travel across several counties in Eastern and Southeastern Michigan, with mileage reimbursement provided. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

- Demonstrate a high level of commitment to delivering excellent customer service to stakeholders, including child care providers, families, businesses, and community partners.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, including scheduling, logistics, invitations, communication, and documentation of discussions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support collaboration and shared goals.
- Support outreach and engagement efforts to connect community members with resources and programs.
- Assist in reviewing and aligning existing plans and initiatives to identify common priorities and actionable strategies.
- Represent Child Care Network at relevant meetings and events, advocating for initiatives that support child care accessibility and workforce development. Coordinate with community agencies/service groups to remove barriers related to early care and education.
- Gather and track participation and engagement data to support reporting and program evaluation. Maintain working knowledge (after training) of all systems required to conduct the work.
- Maintain awareness of best practices, policies, and trends affecting early childhood education and workforce development.
- Participate in agency and department meetings, strategy sessions, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and agency information.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Child Care Network services and activities.
- Work to improve work-related skills and performance through continuing education and self-reflection. Complete 16 hours of professional development annually.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Four (4) years’ work experience in a related field or 120 college credits with some focus on classes in the following areas: Social or Human Services, Psychology, Child and Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, Business, Public Policy, or a relate field. A combination of lived experience and education may be considered.
- Knowledge of and experience with early care and education programs.
- Knowledge of current issues facing people with high needs. Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs and concerns of diverse cultural groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and work independently in a self-directed manner.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to form interpersonal relationships.
- Knowledge/experience with computer technology, spreadsheets, databases, internet, websites, social media, and word processing.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
