Position Summary:
The Child Care Program Support Specialist will utilize their own childcare knowledge and experience to support childcare providers with training, technical assistance, coaching and educational program. Their hands on support will increase high-quality childcare throughout WNY.
PLEASE NOTE: This position requires at least 1-2 years professional childcare experience and 12 credits of higher education in Early Childhood, Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Youth Studies, or related field. An ASPIRE profile is required for this role; we can assist you in getting started if you don’t have one yet. ASPIRE is New York’s workforce registry for early childhood professionals, helping track credentials, training, and career growth.
As A Child Care Program Support Specialist, You Will:
- Be a great teacher and an engaging speaker
- Be passionate about educating childcare providers in the community
- Use your knowledge and expertise from child care work experience to provide coaching and technical assistance to providers
- Provide professional development training in multiple languages
- Use feedback from assessment tools to guide decision making and planning
- Provide hands on support to meet the diverse needs of providers in the community
- Attend in-person and virtual meetings, trainings, and outreach events as required
- Serve on at least one (1) committee supporting our internal and/or external community
What You’ll Bring to this Position:
- Multilingual/Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages that would support servicing our customers, including Chinese, Arabic, Somali, Burmese, and/or Bengali
- At least 12 credits of higher education in Early Childhood, Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Youth Studies, or related field
- Bachelor Degree and three years of direct child care experience; or an Associate Degree with six years of direct child care experience.
- Minimum one-year experience training adults preferred
- Plan of action to achieve New York State Training and Technical Assistance Professional Credential (T-TAP); current credential preferred
- Willingness to grow excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills
- Excellent human relation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people
- Ability to work independently and utilize your team as a support
- Willingness to regularly travel in Erie County
- Available to work evenings and weekends, as needed

- Valid NYS Driver License and a vehicle with current registration and insurance
