Position Summary
The Grant Manager for Early Head Start oversees the administration, implementation, and
compliance of all grants and funding related to the Early Head Start program. This role ensures
the program operates effectively within regulatory guidelines while achieving its goals and
objectives. The Grant Manager collaborates with internal teams, external partners, and funding
agencies to secure resources, track performance, and maintain compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Administration and Compliance
Manage all aspects of Early Head Start grants, including application, implementation,
reporting, and closeout.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including adherence to Head
Start Program Performance Standards.
Maintain thorough knowledge of funding requirements and guidelines, ensuring program
activities align with grant objectives.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial and programmatic reports to funders.
Budget Management
Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for Early Head Start grants.
Collaborate with finance teams to track expenditures and ensure proper allocation of
funds.
Identify potential funding gaps and propose strategies to address them.
Program Support and Development
Collaborate with Early Head Start staff to ensure program goals and outcomes are
achieved.
Assist in the development of new initiatives to expand services and secure additional
funding opportunities.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor program activities and ensure compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with funding agencies, community partners, and other
stakeholders.
Represent the organization at local, state, and national meetings, conferences, and
trainings related to Early Head Start.
Serve as a liaison between the organization and grant funders, addressing inquiries and
requests.
Data Management and Evaluation
Oversee data collection and evaluation processes to measure program effectiveness and
impact.
Analyze data to identify trends and recommend program improvements.
Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for audits and evaluations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, or a
related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant management, preferably in Early Head Start
or a related field.
Proven track record of successful grant writing and administration.
Skills And Abilities
Strong knowledge of Early Head Start program requirements and Head Start Program
Performance Standards.
Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and
presentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Must pass a background check and meet all licensing and regulatory requirements for
Early Head Start staff.
Ability to travel locally and nationally as needed.
