Our residential programs are ready to hire Bilingual Youth Care Workers to join the team in our Emergency Shelters.
We are looking for compassionate, energetic, and dependable individuals that are committed to building a culture of kindness for the children receiving services.
In this role you will spend most of your time in direct supervision of the youth in our agency's care, providing a safe and secure environment where their emotional well-being can flourish. You will assist in the youth's daily routines including food service, housekeeping duties, recreational and play times, and appropriate rest and relaxation. You will oversee safe transitions between different activities and have the opportunity to foster an environment that facilitates learning and behavioral management in a supportive manner. Under the direction of a Shift Supervisor, you will also assist with the admissions and discharges of the children. Utilizing agency established behavior management protocols and procedures you will support the youth and assist in building essential life skills.
Qualifications
To be considered you must have :
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field and minimum 3 years of experience working with children and families, or 8 years of experience in training and curriculum development for children and families.
- Knowledge foundation and education / training in behavior management and crisis stabilization; CPI certification preferred.
- Experience in writing evidence-based and trauma-informed curriculum.
- Demonstrated competency in speaking to both small and large groups of various ages.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must be able to display verbal and written communication skills that meet the requirements of the position and needs of clients.
