CGRC’s ABA Program is expanding! An ABA Assistant Behavior Consultant I is a community-based clinician that provides intensive, home, school, and community-based therapeutic consultation to children and adolescents displaying social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders and their families. More specifically, an ABA Assistant Behavior Consultant I supports behavioral intervention consultation and implementation of services under the guidance of the ABA Behavior Consultant. The ABA Assistant Behavior Consultant I’s primary responsibilities are designed to be consultative in nature, but the position is also responsible to engage in direct services with the child or family to ensure treatment fidelity, transfer of skills, and continuum of care. As part of a therapeutic team, the clinician provides a continuum of services, including system advocacy, information/referral, and crisis intervention/stabilization.

Therapists use a variety of clinically based interventions such as talk, play, art, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other strategies to help you and your child reach the agreed upon treatment plan goals.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Support with conducting and scoring initial and ongoing assessments (FBA, VB-MAPP, AFLS, Vinelind-3, ABLLS-R, etc.).
  • Assist with conducting initial functional behavior assessments during the intake assessment period.
  • Graph and analyze data collection.
  • Assist with assembly of completed and scored assessments and data for authorizations and assessment packets.
  • Conduct IOA of data collection during BHT (Behavioral Health Technician) sessions to ensure treatment integrity.
  • Create supporting materials for Behavior Consultants (i.e., token boards, icons, schedules, social stories, etc.)
  • Support Behavior Consultants with gathering of information and resources to support development or modifications to treatment/behavior plans.
