Are you an experienced family law attorney looking to lead impactful litigation and mentor the next generation of advocates? Child Justice, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Attorney to take on high-stakes cases, train and supervise legal staff, and drive policy reform for Maryland’s most vulnerable children.
✔️ Lead litigation in complex family law and child protection cases
✔️ Supervise and mentor staff attorneys, legal interns, and paralegals
✔️ Work in a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to child advocacy
✔️ Engage in systemic advocacy and policy reform
✔️ Collaborate with passionate legal professionals fighting for justice
🔹 Manage a caseload of family law cases (protective orders, custody, divorce, and more)
🔹 Provide strategic litigation leadership in Circuit & District Courts throughout Maryland
🔹 Supervise and mentor attorneys, paralegals, and interns
🔹 Conduct client intake assessments, legal consultations, and trial preparation
🔹 Represent clients in hearings, trials, and appeals
🔹 Train legal staff and develop litigation strategies
🔹 Participate in policy and legislative advocacy to strengthen child protection laws
✅ J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
✅ Licensed to practice in Maryland (good standing)
✅ 7-10 years of experience in family law, child protection, or legal services
✅ Expertise in domestic violence and child protection law
✅ Strong leadership, litigation, and client advocacy skills
✅ Commitment to serving survivors of interpersonal violence and abuse
