Job Title : Childcare Assistant Director
Location : Houston - Cypress TX
Job Summary : Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a childcare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves managing staff, developing programs, maintaining compliance with regulations, and fostering strong relationships with families.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership and Management :Supervise and support childcare staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.Program Development :Design and oversee age-appropriate educational programs and activities that promote children’s development.
Monitor and assess program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.Regulatory Compliance :Ensure the facility meets all local, state, and federal licensing requirements.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to staff, children, and facility operations.Family Engagement :Foster positive relationships with families, providing support and resources as needed.
Organize family events and communication to promote involvement in the childcare community.Financial Management :Develop and manage the budget, including tuition and expenditures.
Monitor financial performance and implement strategies for improvement.Safety and Health :Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
Conduct regular safety inspections and address any concerns promptly.Qualifications :
Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (required).3 years of experience in childcare or early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Knowledge of state and federal childcare regulations.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).Skills :
Ability to develop and implement educational programs.Proficient in budgeting and financial management.Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.Passion for working with children and supporting their development.Working Conditions :
Typical hours are 30 - 40Physical requirements include the ability to lift children and engage in physical activities.Responsibilities
Select an accredited curriculum based on each classroom’s needs and programsEnsure that we are always in compliance with county and state regulations, as well as with the Department of EducationManage staff expectations and handle any issues, including scheduling and interpersonal conflicts that may ariseReview and approve all lesson plans, printed materials, bulletin announcements, and newslettersPlan extra-curricular activities, including in-house entertainment and field trips or destinationsQualifications
