Childre Chevrolet GMC, LLC is seeking an Automotive Parts Manager who would be responsible for overseeing the parts department of our automotive dealership. This role ensures that the parts department runs efficiently, provides excellent customer service, and supports the service advisors, technicians, and customers with the right parts for repairs and services.
Job Summary:
The Automotive Parts Manager is responsible for the overall management of the parts department, including inventory control, sales, ordering, and customer service. The individual in this role ensures that all parts are readily available for service technicians, sales, and customers, while maintaining efficient operations and meeting sales goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the ordering, stocking, and inventory of automotive parts and accessories.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust stock levels to meet demand while avoiding overstocking.
- Perform regular inventory audits and reconciliation.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with part inquiries and ensuring accurate parts identification.
- Manage sales of parts to customers, both retail and wholesale.
- Process customer orders, including returns and exchanges.
- Work closely with service advisors and technicians to ensure parts are available for repairs and services.
- Supervise and train parts department staff to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Achieve or exceed sales targets for parts sales.
- Track and report on parts sales performance to upper management.
- Develop strategies to increase parts sales and profitability.
- Ensure parts are distributed efficiently and promptly to technicians and service departments.
- Keep parts department organized and well-maintained.
- Ensure the parts department is in compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive or business management education is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in parts sales or management, preferably in an automotive setting.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and accessories.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with a team and manage staff effectively.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and software.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and stand for extended periods as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with automotive dealership & their systems
- Previous experience with General Motors.
- Leadership experience in an automotive parts department.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects as needed.
