Description
- Provide intensive therapy for elementary school age children.
- Assist youth to reduce symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety and behavioral challenges with the goals to improve functioning, grades, attendance, peer and parent support, and coping skills.
- Provide counseling, therapy, referrals, advocacy, and collateral contacts.
- Make contact with families in a timely manner as indicated
- Evaluate the needs of students, families and others to make accurate and complete assessments.
- Provide intervention for students and families that address the student’s disruptive behavior and family issues that impact school performance.
- Develop comprehensive case plans for students and families with achievable goals and objectives and review monthly with Principal or designee and Site Leader.
- Collaborate with the families, agency staff, school team members and interested parties as needed to coordinate services for the child and family to develop plans and facilitate improved student performance.
- Be available for in-home and telephone crisis intervention, during normal work hours, via cell phone.
- Establish and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with the agency and community.
- Assist in developing and designing a Parent Resource Center and present other educational and health programs, as appropriate.
- Maintain agency standards regarding confidentiality, quality, and productivity.
- Engage students in various pro-social and/or educational activities during the summer months (i.e. small group counseling and field trips).
- Prepare and maintain timely documentation and records in accordance with agency, state accreditation, and other requirements, policies, and procedures.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related discipline, required.
- License (LPCMH or LCSW) preferred; license eligible required.
- Two years post-masters experience or strong clinical background, preferred.
- Flexibility with respect to work assignment in accordance with agency need.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population
- Must have valid driver’s license, which meets the requirements of the agency’s insurance carrier and reliable transportation.
