Assistant Teacher: Older Infant or Young Toddler

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma and willingness to obtain CDA
• Prefered: CDA, Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree, Pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education
• 1 year Experience in Early Childhood Education Setting
• Experience with DHS Licensure Regulations
• Willingness to obtain CPR certification
• Pass a TN background check
• Support the Lead Teacher in implementation of an emergent curriculum

Teaching Duties:

• Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and caregivers.
• Support the maintenance of a safe classroom environment that encourages parent participation.
• Support the creation of weekly lessons plans, if needed, which implement the curriculum and the TNELDS domains for each child's development in their care.
• Support the maintenance of a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children's learning and growth.
• Support completion of ongoing developmental evaluations of children as required and keep documentation in portfolio.
• Consistently follow and maintain all TN DHS Licensure rules and regulations for child care centers.
• Maintain open and consistent communication with classroom teaching team to ensure healthy work relationships and collaboration.
• Support and follow the directives of the Lead Teacher.
• Document the development of each child using anecdotal notes.
• Maintain hourly communication with parents and caregivers through web based software during shift hours.
