What are the responsibilities and job description for the Self Direction Agency Broker position at Children At Play Early Intervention Center?
Children At Play is a non-profit organization providing services to children and adults with intellectual and development disabilities. Our agency is seeking an Self Direction Agency Broker in our Fiscal Intermediary department. Children At Play offers a collegial atmosphere and a very supportive work environment that promotes collaboration, professional growth and development.
The Self Directed Agency Broker will support families and participants enrolled in the Fiscal Intermediary department. The Self Directed Agency Broker will assist the participant and their families maintain their Self Direction Budgets approved through NYS and OPWDD.
- Maintaining a caseload of enrolled Self Direction participants
- Attending Circle of Support meetings, Life Plan meetings, and any other meetings the Self Direction Participant may request
- Coordinating and attending budget planning and launch meetings for Self Direction Participants on caseload
- Completing and reviewing amendments/changes to the Self-Direction Budget and plan, as needed
- Monitoring the Self-Direction budget
- Ensure the Self-Directed Budget and Plan is person centered
- Provide education and guidance to the entire Circle of Support Team on the regulations set forth by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and New York State
- Maintain communication with the participants on your caseload and ensure all their needs are met
- Completing meeting minutes and staff action plans in a timely manner
- Completing monthly billing for participants on caseload
- Assist with Monthly paperwork, which can include but not limited to, Expense Report, Mileage Reimbursement, Self-Hired Staff Timesheets, etc., as needed.
- Has a current OPWDD Authorization number to practice Self-Direction Brokerage
- Attends all trainings in order to keep Broker Authorization current and attends additional trainings as requested
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 years of I/DD experience
- 1 years of customer service experience
- Strong follow up and communication skills
- Proficient in Excel, knowledge with Medicaid and waiver services, works well independently as well as with a team. Fast pace environment, ability to multi-task, and a strong foundation of computer skills
- Adept in technology - Must possess technological skills necessary to perform daily tasks (data entry, managing/submitting documentation) through various HIPAA compliant online platforms. Skilled in Microsoft Office
