We offer international adoption services to US citizens from several countries and have domestic adoption and foster care programs in North Carolina and South Carolina. Role Description
This is a part-time or full-time hybrid position with some travel as a Foster Care Manager. The primary responsibility is to provide supervision to the following staff titles: Social Worker/Case Manager, Licensing/Training Worker, and Qualified Professional.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising foster care staff.
- Provides case consultation, review, and monitoring of staff responsible for.
- Provides case assignments, 24 hour rotating phone response assignments, coordinates workflow, maintains efficiency, responsible for staff training, and quality control.
- Responsible for making changes in work procedures to meet program demands and present recommendations to management on issues which impact programmatic goals, objectives and policies.
- Reviews program objectives and service delivery needs with staff, formulates specific goals and objectives for the assigned program area, and provides input to higher-level management on short-range planning needs for staff.
- Responsible for ensuring that staff receive initial job training, continued on-the-job training and formal training annually.
- Responsible for ensuring that all policies, guidelines, operational standards, regulations, and licensure requirements are followed and maintained; implements changes when necessary to ensure regulatory compliance. Monitored through case reviews, staff meetings, staff supervision, and informal/formal discussions with staff supervised.
- Addresses problems with staff privately and directly through initial verbal warnings and then proceeds with following agency disciplinary policies for further actions, if needed.
- Required to participate in initial hiring of positions supervised, provides input to higher management regarding staffing, provides annual performance reviews for each staff member supervised, and approves leave requests.
- Responsible for the quality of work provided by staff supervised.
- Must work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Maintains other duties assigned
Specific Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of methods and principles of foster care, casework supervision, and training.
- Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Must have considerable knowledge of medical terminology and disease processes and/or behavioral and mental health diagnoses, developmental programs and behavior management techniques.
- Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources.
- Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies which govern social work programs.
- Ability to supervise, train, or orient social workers, students, interns, or other staff.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
- Requires excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must maintain a positive and supportive working relationship with staff supervised.
- Hybrid work with designated office days, some travel required.
