Where You’ll Work
This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office in the Metro Center area. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.
What You’ll Do
The HR Generalist will have a significant impact on the organization by driving employee engagement, fostering a positive work culture, and assisting in the development and retention of our talented workforce. This role serves as a trusted resource for staff and leadership, ensuring HR compliance, and leading HR initiatives that drive enhanced performance, employee engagement, and overall organizational efficiency.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and resolving concerns.
- Fosters and champions company culture, ensuring an inclusive approach to employee engagement and recognition.
- Leads the company compliance training program, reviewing and updating annually.
- Partners with leadership and their staff in career planning and development to grow and develop a motivated, skilled, and engaged workforce to meet current and future business needs.
- Coordinate and/or facilitate training sessions and workshops that support ongoing professional development; develop training materials, resources, and track attendance.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers, handling sensitive situations in a fair and consistent manner.
- Maintain personnel file process, creating and updating employee records, in accordance with employment law and the HR business continuity plan.
- Supports the planning and execution of various HR projects and events.
- Supports annual reporting and audits (FLSA, EEO, I-9, etc.).
- Develop knowledge across various HR functions (recruiting and onboarding, benefits, leave management, compensation, etc.) and provide support when needed.
What You’ll Bring To CHA
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience
- Solid understanding of labor laws, rules and regulations associated with HIPAA, FLSA, FMLA and other employment laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Strong proficiency using technology, ex: Microsoft Office, HRIS, applicant tracking and learning management systems.
- Exhibit ethical conduct and maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of work
- Ability to travel by car or plane up to 10% of the time

This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $76,000 Max: $133,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
