Reporting to the ______, the ____ Unit Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the ____ unit. Job responsibilities include budget development and management, personnel development and management, quality oversight, and department strategic planning. The Manager is a key member of the Hospital's leadership team and represents the Nursing Division on several interdisciplinary workgroups.
- Minimum Qualifications :
- Education :
- BSN required; MS preferred.
- Required Licenses & Certifications :
- Current California RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS). PALS and TNCC preferred for ED Manager.
- Experience :
- 3 5 years related departmental experience. 2 years leadership experience (i.e. charge nurse); previous management experience preferred.
- Skills & Abilities :
- Basic proficiency with PC, word processing, spreadsheets. Effective written and verbal skills. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Previous CQI experience. Previous electronic medical records (I.e. EPIC) preferred. Good crisis management / prioritization abilities. Physical Requirements : Sit : Up to 3 hours / day Stand / Walk : 6-8 hours Bend / Stoop : Up to 3 hours Reach : Up to 6 hours Rep Use of UE / Grasp : Up to 6 hrs Lift / Push / Pull : 25lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment This job requires the ability to hear alarms clients and / or instruction.
