Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Director to join our team. This key role involves supporting the Daycare Director in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with licensing standards, fostering positive relationships with staff and families, and maintaining a high-quality educational program.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the overall operation of the daycare, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals and state regulations.
- Supervise and support teaching staff, providing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Director to implement and enhance curriculum, programs, and activities.
- Handle administrative duties, including scheduling, enrollment, and maintaining accurate records.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, addressing their concerns and ensuring excellent communication.
- Step into the Director's role during their absence to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- 45 hrs Mandatory DCF training
- CDA, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, (preferred).
- Experience in a similar position (Front Desk/Assistant Director).
- Strong knowledge of licensing regulations and standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of Food Program
