Position Summary

Accountable for the day to day technical operations of a specific area of the lab. Supports testing and staffing activities to ensure section testing meets quality and service expectations. Acts as a lab liaison among all areas of the hospital. Provides leadership in quality, safety and regulatory activities. Promotes the development of the team.

Medical Laboratory Scientist

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry or Biology or related fields.

Certified as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) board of registry or equivalent professional organization per CLIA standards.

License/Certification/Registration required? Yes, see above.

Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, and multifunctional.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and terminology.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Ability to lead teams and coach individuals.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
