What are the responsibilities and job description for the Two Year Old Teacher position at Children's Montessori Academy?
We are looking for a happy, energetic two year old teacher to work with our two year old team to help our students developmentally through facilitating the exploration of their environment. Our ideal candidate must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and early childhood educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to create happy learning moments with our toddlers so that they can progress to the next stage of development. This position is a team position which means the candidate will be working in a classroom to two additional teachers. We believe in a supportive work environment!
Responsibilities
- Manage a safe and creative environment suitable for two year olds and encourage their independent learning.
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, singing, dancing, etc.) to work with students.
- Observe each child to understand where they are developmentally and to determine how to help them progress to the next stage of development.
- Encourage social interactions among students.
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise students to ensure they are safe at all times.
- Track students' progress and report to parents.
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the students' backgrounds and needs.
- Collaborate with other educators.
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Skills
- Classroom experience preferred, however, a candidate with an outgoing personality and drive will be a welcomed addition to our team. We are happy to train!
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development. .
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills.
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable.
- Certification in child CPR preferred, however, can be obtained after hire.
