Responsible for teaching BLS, ACLS and / or PALS classes according to the AHA curriculum, mentoring new instructors, testing and remediating students.
Qualifications : Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
2 years Must have a current provider card in the discipline they wish to teach (BLS, ACLS and / or PALS) and have held it for 2 years (Required)
Required Licenses and Certifications
ACLS, BLS and / or PALS Instructor (Required)

Course Delivery
- Delivers all core content consistent with AHA published guidelines, Instructor Manual, Lesson Plans, and agenda
- Uses videos, checklists, equipment, and other tools as directed in the Instructor Manual
- Allows adequate time for content delivery, skills practice, and debriefing
- Promotes retention by reinforcing key points
- Delivers course in a safe and nonthreatening manner
- Relates course material to audience (prehospital or in-facility)
- Effectively operates technology used in the course
- Adapts terminology appropriate to location, audience, and culture
- Accommodates students who have disabilities and other special needs
- Provides timely and appropriate feedback to students
- Uses principles of effective team dynamics during small group activities
- Facilitates debriefings after scenarios to improve individual and team performance
