Responsibilities
Managing the zebrafish facility
Conducting research studies using zebrafish models for pediatric brain cancer research
Education:
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in a life sciences related field (Required)
Experience:
At least two to four years of progressive specialized working experience with zebrafish (Required)
Skills:
- General Zebrafish husbandry and maintenance
- Screening, maintenance, and breeding of mutants and transgenic lines
- Genotyping of mutant lines (e.g., PCR genotyping)
- Bio-imaging experiments (confocal microscopy)
- Micro-injection and micromanipulation (e.g., xenografts, plasmids, etc.)
- Toxicity tests and drug screens using zebrafish embryos and larvae
- Behavioral assays and subsequent analysis (e.g., neurotoxicity)
- Mammalian cell culture
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
