Serves as the supervisor of Background Screening Unit within Children’s Network of Hillsborough. This includes overseeing the processing of background screenings and diligent searches for all system of care needs under Children’s Network and associated agencies for Hillsborough County.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Serves as supervisor of all agency Background Screening Analysts and Diligent Search Specialists including hiring, evaluations, counseling and separating of Background Screening Team staff. Responsible for overseeing the standards used for performing background screenings and diligent searches as required. This includes oversight of the following:

Travel
Travel in and outside of Circuit 13 may be required.
Training
All employees must complete fifteen (15) hours of on-line or classroom Training on an annual basis. If the employee is a Certified Child Welfare Professional, Training hours must total twenty (20) annually.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities of 6 to 8 employees

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Intake and logging in background screening and diligent search request.
- Searches of names, social security numbers, individuals in CJIS, searching under SPN (System Person Number) as well as for potential aliases and additional SPN numbers that may exist for an individual.
- Check of the Florida Department of Corrections Offenders Information.
- Searches of county, state, and national databases for individuals’ criminal offenses.
- Putative Father Registry applications and searches.
- Determinations and communicating findings.
- Submission to FCIC, NCIC, and fingerprint checks to DCF
- Hires, evaluates, mentors, coaches and disciplines staff as appropriate.
- Searches any additional data bases such as FDLE Career Offender Check, FDLE Statewide Wanted Check and FDLE Sex Offenders.
- Responsible for interfacing with municipal, county/state law enforcement and judiciary to both expand access to criminal and civil histories as to determine resolution of nolle prossed, NIF'd and dismissed cases.
- Responsible for continuing development of Background Screening units’ access to criminal and civil histories.
- Responsible for providing trainings to the case managers and supervisors as pertains to the Background Screening functions.
- Supports the project’s QA function, QA data needs, and deadlines for reports and monitoring as they pertain to background screenings and diligent searches.

- Education- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social services or related field required.
- Experience- Four years computer work experience and previous supervisory experience required. Law or Criminal Justice knowledge preferred.
