Job Summary

At Children’s of Alabama, clinically trained chaplains provide around the clock spiritual care for patients, caregivers and staff. Chaplains are integrated into the interdisciplinary care teams in the services/units to which they are assigned, providing spiritual and cultural insight essential for a family centered model of care. As a member of the collaborative Pastoral Care team, each chaplain provides on-call coverage as needed to insure around the clock chaplain availability.

Education

Graduate theological degree from an accredited school of theology

Four units of CPE - Residency preferred

Experience
-
Ministry experience beyond CPE in a pediatric setting preferred

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
-
Ordination and/or endorsement by a recognized faith community

Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains preferred

If not certified, then must be eligible for certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains within the first 12 months of employment and certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains preferred within 24 months of employment.
