What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant - PT Wkds- Hoover/Hwy 150 position at Children's of Alabama?
This position will work 1 day per week and Saturday / Sunday 8 am - 1 pm. Higher hourly rate for weekend work days.
Job Summary
Responsible for providing support to physician and nursing staff and receiving patients and their families.
- Assist the doctor with patient preparation (i.e., history, physicals, obtaining specimens, vital signs, age appropriate measurements, reason for visit, etc.)
- Triage patients
- Sterilize equipment.
- Dress minor wounds when necessary.
- Clean and sanitize exam rooms between patients.
- Distribute educational brochures and pamphlets.
- Chart maintenance.
- Perform audio and visual test.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. BCLS certification within 30 days of employment.
Experience
