Apply now to see where your career at CHOC can take you.Job SummaryThe HVAC Technician is responsible for the overall operation, repair and installation of all refrigeration, Cooling, Heating, and air conditioning equipment and systems in the facility. Responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of all heating and cooling system components as well as equipment and energy control systems associated with central plant and building operations. Oversees scheduling and delegation of third-party vendors and contractors performing physical plant improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and contract maintenance as they relate to HVAC of all associated buildings.Pay RangeMinimum $33.44 Midpoint $44.32 Maximum $55.18Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.Experience * Required: Minimum three (3) years HVAC Journeyman level experience.* Preferred: Previous hospital experience as HVAC engineer.Education * Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.* Preferred: HVAC Vocational School graduate.Training * Required: Must be acquainted with local Fire and Safety regulations.* Preferred: 500 HP LA City Steam Operator License BOCA Building Engineer - Level 3 CSHE Sr Mechanic certification.Specialized Skills * Required: Must possess the ability to follow methods and procedures that are well established. Ability to work in a busy patient and public environment. Ability to communicate effectively in English - both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times according to current HIPAA laws. Ability to work days, evening, night and weekend shifts as assigned.
