Overview
Core Charge Nurses provide leadership for nursing staff on their scheduled shifts. They collaborate with Nursing Department Directors, Managers, and Hospital Shift Supervisors to provide the personnel, workplace, and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe, high quality patient and family care. Core Charge Nurses solve problems effectively, communicating and collaborating with all stakeholders. Demonstrates understanding and commitment to the Children's Mercy Lean System and contributes to operational excellence. They maintain clinical expertise by providing direct patient and family care, working with staff on a regularly scheduled basis.

Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for nursing staff to support high quality care of patients and families, during scheduled shifts, in coordination with the interdisciplinary patient care team.
- Collaborates with the Nursing Department Director, Nurse Manager, and Hospital Shift Supervisor to provide the personnel, workplace, and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe, high quality patient and family care during scheduled shifts.
- Provides leadership for effective problem solving, communication, and collaboration between stakeholders to achieve the common goal of safe, high quality patient care.
- Utilizes the nursing process and organizational policy and procedure to plan and provide a comprehensive, collaborative, age-appropriate plan of care for patients and families.
- Bachelor's Degree BSN required and 3-5 years experience
- One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
- One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
- Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
- Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred
Salary : $32
