Description
Up to $18.00 / hour! Responsible for providing 1 : 1 personal care, skill development, supervision, and training for children and young adults with special health care needs in a child’s home and integrated community settings.
Schedule
M-F business hours, occasional evenings and weekends
What You'll Do
Implement care plan of each service area by conducting baselines / assessments and following plans appropriate for each service area requirements. Teach and support children / young adults in mastering goal areas as identified in the care plan.
Assure timely documentation of each service area expectations.
Meet all personal care and daily living needs of children / young adults, which may include feeding, toileting, etc.
Become trained for medication administration, seizures, and g-tube feedings as well as other specialized trainings needed.
Build professional interactions between children / young adults, families, staff, and volunteers.
Follow all safety procedures according to ChildServe Guidelines and Policies and communicate with on-call supervisors as needed regarding emergency situations, safety, behavioral concerns, or major adverse events.
Complete other duties related to service operations as assigned.
What You'll Need
Maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others, both verbally and in writing, and foster effective relationships with co-workers, children, and families.
Must exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and ChildServe
Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.
This position will be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements. Specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
Must be willing to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver. This includes passing a Motor Vehicle Record Check, car safety check, and able to provide a valid driver's license and insurance.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience : A minimum of 1 year professional experience working with children with special health care needs preferred.
