Chilmark General Store on Martha's Vineyard (MA) is seeking energetic and motivated individuals for our Cashier & Takeout Server positions for the 2024 season. We are a seasonal business open May to October. Hourly wage plus tips. Tips are significant. Housing available on a limited basis.
Position Summary
Responsible for the daily operations of the takeout cashier counter by offering superior customer service, facilitating efficient service flow, performing accurate and timely daily checkout procedures, and maintaining the counter presentation and cleanliness.
Essential Functions
Customer Service: Serve customers efficiently and thoroughly; always greeting and welcoming customers, constantly anticipating and graciously assisting with customer needs, saying thank you, etc.
Order Taking & Expediting: Sell menu and products in an informative, friendly and enthusiastic manner. Take accurate orders, follow all order procedures. Expedite & pack online orders for customer pick-up with care and accuracy.
Counter & Store Maintenance: Clean and maintain clean counters & retail displays throughout shift including surrounding floors. Maintain take-out menus, black boards and product signs.
Opening & Closing Responsibilities: Set-up retail displays, cashier counter and entrance signs daily. Follow all closing procedures.
Supplies:Maintain and stock all counter & register supplies.
Feedback: Communicate customer requests, suggestions, and comments to manager.

Hourly wage with tips: $24. to $35. /hour
Requirements:
