Donut Pastry Chef - Weekends

Chin Up Donuts is elevating the donut experience in Arizona and looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the team! The Donut Pastry Chef will be responsible for the prep and execution of our specialty donuts every weekend. We are looking for a passionate person that is excited by the potential of developing new recipes, creating monthly flavor specials, collaborating with other local makers and food producers, and elevating the everyday donut. The ideal candidate will have kitchen/baking experience, is a team player, gets creative in the kitchen, and is self-motivated to continually exceed expectations to consistent, high-quality donuts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dough prep: daily prep work of our brioche-style dough and occasional cake/fritter dough, including measuring, mixing, and storage of dough supply
• Rolling, cutting, and proofing: rolling dough to appropriate height, cutting – including specialty letters and shapes, and proofing of raised donuts
• Frying dough: frying donut dough, flipping donuts to ensure proper cooking time and coloring on top and bottom
• Glazing and donut decorating: prepping glaze to correct consistency and flavor profile, glazing donuts, and topping/decorating appropriately for each flavor
• Flavor creation and testing: partner with lead pastry chef in brainstorming of new flavors, including savory, local & global inspired creations, and seasonal concepts for both donuts and toasts
• Inventory management: tracking ingredients, costs, and ordering supplies and ingredients based on demand

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be willing to work early morning shifts and weekends, shifts starting as early as 1am
• Prior food industry experience, either bakery or restaurant
• Ability to work harmoniously in a kitchen environment, be a team player, and have a positive attitude
• Ability to help build a kitchen and company culture based on positivity, growth, quality, creativity, and fun
• Flexibility is key, must be able to multi-task and take on responsibilities that occasionally fall outside of this job description

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
