What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Intervention Teacher- Elementary (25-26 School Year) position at China Spring Elementary School?
Primary Purpose:
The Intervention teacher is responsible for implementing and monitoring intervention services to elementary school students; collecting and monitoring data to evaluate programs, executing and preparing forms, participating in staff development opportunities to enhance and increase the student’s level of expertise, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Experience teaching reading(7/8)
- Experience working with at-risk students
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of child development and how it relates to learning
- Demonstrate a passion for educating students
- Ability to collaborate and work well with others
- Willing to participate in and lead PLCs
- Have excellent organizational skills
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, parents and staff
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
The Intervention Teacher is responsible for the students and their progress toward the achievement of services, providing instruction, monitoring and assessing student progress and following up with students who have exited the program. Other responsibilities include using expertise to assess student proficiency, identifying specific areas of ability, prescribing an appropriate plan of intervention, and evaluating student performance relative to grade level standards.
