Job Summary :
The Resident Services Coordinator provides support to a diverse group of residents, mainly the elderly, and disabled, living in formerly public housing sites. The position requires a motivated and resourceful individual who is sensitive to residents' needs; has excellent service coordination, community engagement, team-building and group facilitation skills; and thrives in a relatively independent work environment in a team setting with other providers. This position works across teams to foster a climate supportive of resident empowerment and leadership development. This position also works closely with intensive case management and property management teams, in support of resident housing stabilization and lease compliance. This position oversees services to a senior / disabled housing sites in San Francisco Chinatown.
Status : Full-time, Nonexempt
Location : Chinatown neighborhood, San Francisco
Hours : Monday through Friday, 9 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 30 p.m. plus some nights and weekends
Salary : $28.60 - $30.11 per hour; Comprehensive benefits
Schedule : Weekly Schedule. Hybrid (1-2 days remote).

What You Will Do :
- Organize, set-up, implement, and evaluate activities
- Create and implement programming at the properties including a focus on community building, aging-in-place and educational workshops
- Provide case management for the residents including translation assistance
- Work on other resident services projects that come up throughout the year such as an Inter-Property field trip, food programs (Meals on Wheels, food box program, food drives, food pantries, etc.)
- Work with social service agencies that focus on additional programming to the property
- Order and physically shop for and purchase program supplies
- Work with Tenant Council to collaborate tenant activities and events
- Work with Property Management and ICM team on housing retention and compliance
Case Work / Information and Referral
Orient new residents to Resident Services, working with them to identify services / benefits that best fit their needsProvide direct services such as information and referrals, and translation / interpretation assistanceComplete case notes, service encounter forms, and group activities in the RS database in a timely mannerDevelop on-going cooperative network of government and social service agenciesServe as an advocate and liaison for residents with service agencies and / or property managementWork in partnership with Property Management to educate residents on their rights and responsibilitiesResident Community Building
Plan and coordinate on-site and off-site educational, social, and recreational activities that may include, but are not limited to, the following : health and aging, safety, and nutrition workshops; holiday celebrations; outings; voter education; disaster preparedness workshops; and fire drillsProvide mediation between residents when neededSupport resident leadership and empowerment by providing technical assistance to Tenant Councils and working with residents to recruit and sustain volunteers for programsWork with property staff and residents to develop and implement activities and systems that promote safety and securityEducate and / or link residents to community / neighborhood projects that impact their quality of lifeAdministrative Support
Track resident services data in multiple databases on a regular basisMaintain resident files on all services provided, including intakes, needs assessments, service plans, referrals, and outcomesComplete / maintain service reports, grant reports, activities budgets, program files, and other paperworkProvide information for and / or assist with writing grant applicationsConduct resident surveys to measure programsCreate monthly calendar of events and activities, and produce outreach flyers and newslettersAssist in recruiting and supervising volunteersAssist Resident Services team and at organization eventsAttend meetings and trainingsOther

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field and one (1) year of experience in providing direct services in the form of information, referrals, and / or linkages to community and public resources to low-income populations and one (1) year of experience in developing, organizing, and implementing group activities, ORHigh school diploma or GED and a combination of four (4) years of experience in providing direct services in the form of information, referrals, and / or linkages to community and public resources to low-income populations as well as experience in developing, organizing, and implementing group activities [B]One year of experience in developing, organizing, and implementing group activitiesOne (1) year of experience working with older adultsAbility to work effectively with culturally diverse populationsBilingual in English / Chinese (Cantonese)Experience working with adults with mental health and or substance abuse issuesKnowledge of, and sensitivity to, the needs of low-income peopleAbility to travel throughout San FranciscoPreferred Qualifications :
