(For more information, please visit : https : / / www.cpc-nyc.org / )PROGRAM SUMMARYThe After-School Program at New Utrecht High School includes academic enrichment, cultural and recreational services that provide youth participants with rich and meaningful experiences, while equipping them with the resources, support and guidance needed for continued success throughout high school and beyond.JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Campus Director, the full-time Family Development Coach will focus on maintaining relationships with community members, and school leadership. The Family Development Coach will also provide support and services in programmatic activities to young people who are students at the school.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESProvide individualized guidance and counseling, and case management services; enter participant case notes and track progress, including services receivedAssist and guide high school students with their academic, financial, and / or professional short-and long-term goalsPlan and facilitate social-emotional learning, interactive projects-based learning, career- readiness, college readiness, and basic life-skills workshops relating to holistic youth developmentCoordinate the scheduling of guest speakers, community service opportunities, and field trips(e.g., college visits, recreational activities) within program guidelinesMaintain participant files / programmatic documents and track attendance, progress, and outcomesAssist with recruitment, enrollment, and retention of program participantsProvide support in overseeing homework help and tutoring servicesRefer CPC’s direct services and resources to youth and familiesComply with all NYSED policies and administrative proceduresAttend meetings and professional development trainings as required by CPC and NYC DYCD, including Family Development Coach certification trainingReport to and fulfill other related duties as outlined by the Program DirectorQUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field.A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the fields of youth and / or workforce development.Skills and Competencies : Must be culturally competent and provide services in manner sensitive to participants’ cultural heritage and traditions, life experience, sexual orientation and gender identity.Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.Strong work ethic and demonstrated passion for working with immigrant and low-income communities, and youth development.Knowledge of high school level English, Math, Science, and / or History subjects are a plusKnowledge of MS office applications, especially Excel, and virtual platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Webex.Working knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud applications is a plus.Willingness to travel to worksites via public transportation.Bilingual; fluency in English and any of the following languages : Arabic / Chinese / Spanish.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS OVERVIEW$25.28 to $30.22 per hour; 35 hours per week with occasional evenings and weekendsCPC offers competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to generous paid time off (holiday, sick and vacation time), Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance Coverage, Commuter Benefits, and a 403(b) Retirement PlanHOW TO APPLYInterested individuals should submit their resume, along with a cover letter addressed to Belinda Liang, when applying online via CPC’s website : https : / / www.cpc-nyc.org / jobs or selected online job boards.
