What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Staff Member position at Chip's PIckleball Club?

We are seeking energetic and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as a Pickleball Front Desk Staff Member at Chip’s Pickleball Club. The Front Desk Staff will serve as the first point of contact for members and guests, providing exceptional service and support in various administrative and customer service tasks. The hours of the club are 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM every day. The hours of this role are 5:45 AM - 10:30 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Arrive on time every time for each shift you work.
  • Assume responsibility in your area of the club and take pride in your work.
  • Greet members and guests warmly as they arrive at the club.
  • Answer the main phone line promptly, with a positive attitude, and with a problem-solving mentality so that every interaction with the Chip’s brand is a positive experience.
  • Provide information about the club including our offerings and membership options to prospective members and visitors.
  • Assist members with check-ins, court reservations, and equipment rentals, using CourtReserve (our court scheduling software).
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and handle inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock at the front desk area and throughout the club.
  • Process payments for membership fees, court bookings, merchandise, and other club-related transactions accurately using the CourtReserve POS system.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as data entry and uploading matches to DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating).
  • Monitor the lobby and common areas to ensure compliance with club policies and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional member experiences.
  • Address member concerns or complaints promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or front desk role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pickleball or a willingness to learn about the sport and club offerings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must have dependable and punctual transportation to and from Chip’s.
  • Physical demands - must be able to:
  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, reach outward, reach above shoulder, squat/kneel, bend*
  • Lift/carry 31-40 lbs*
  • Push/pull 31-40 lbs*

*Occasionally: This position requires this activity up to 33% of the time.

  • Vision (near, distance, peripheral, and depth perception)
  • Sense of sound
  • Sense of touch
