Job Summary and Qualifications
The Facility Manager, Communications and Community Engagement is an extension of the Division Marketing and Corporate Affairs team working onsite at local hospitals to support promotion of the HCA Healthcare family of brands, as well as the Division’s growth agenda. The position reports directly to the Facility Director Communications and Community Engagement/Division AVP, Strategic Communications with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Hospital CEO.
The Facility Manager participates in the execution of communications and community engagement plans for the hospital’s local market, and supports efforts in alignment with Division and Corporate/Group-developed objectives, strategies and tactics for Marketing and Corporate Affairs. Keeping current in terms of community needs, issues and opportunities relevant to the organization, the manager assists with collaboration and execution of community engagement activities and serves as the lead hospital communicator.
What you will do in this role:
Communications:
- Bridges enterprise brand narrative with market/hospital brand to highlight the value of being part of the broader organization.
- Assists CEO and other officers with communication needs including messaging related to colleague engagement.
- Supports development and implementation of the strategic PR and Communications plan to meet organizational needs and support hospital business and growth goals.
- Assists with onsite crisis communication as needed.
- Assists in developing content to drive engagement across owned, earned and paid media channels.
- Stays abreast of hospital and market news, trends, services and objectives.
- Acts as a local advocate for the adherence to marketing and communications specific policies in partnership with the Facility Ethics and Compliance Officer.
- Consistently monitors patient comments and reviews about the hospital and its physicians in order to provide timely response to positive engagements and speedy service recovery for negative comments/reviews.
- Escalates communication activity that may impact the HCA Healthcare brand, both positively and negatively.
Community Engagement
- Reinforces engagement programs and activities to heighten our positive reputation within the community.
- Supports strategy for hospital’s Board of Trustees regarding composition and engagement.
- Supports and coordinates events and programs in coordination with the Division and hospital goals and designed to raise awareness of the submarket’s capabilities and strengths.
- Supports aspects of colleague community engagement, including giving campaigns for the community and our HCA Healthcare Hope Fund, volunteering and board service in collaboration with Human Resources.
Marketing
- Serves as a conduit to communicate Enterprise, Group and Division marketing strategies to facility leadership.
- Provides facility insights to feed Division/regional marketing plans, including access to service line leaders, subject matter experts and other key leaders.
- Facilitates local brand management activities to ensure stakeholders are educated, knowledgeable and engaged on our brand strategies, including proper use of logos and marks.
- Assists Facility Director and Division team to activate local marketing and brand strategies.
- Acts in supportive role for marketing tactics applicable to Physician & Provider Relations/Physician Service Group needs.
- Supports Division/Corporate growth agenda.
- Collaborates with the Marketing Services Organization to develop content (includes web and social content) and manage hospital collateral items such as fliers, brochures, rack cards, etc.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field required
- 1 year of experience in a management role
- 3 years of experience in a related position/field
