What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at Chippewa Animal Clinic?

Duties include:
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work compassionately with clients in various traumatic emotional states
- Work patiently with distressed, frustrated or disgruntled clients
- Answer and triage phone calls
- Schedule all appointments and surgeries
- Check-in clients and bring them into exam rooms
- Monitor the schedule and flow of business
- Managing record requests between other hospitals
- Fill prescriptions
- Discharge patients and check them out
- Process payment transactions
- Maintain proper documentation in electronic medical records
- Relay appropriate information to/from clients to/from doctors
- Educate clients on general pet care
- Attend to the daily caretaking needs of patients, such as feeding, walking, and administering medications as directed by supervisor
- Clean and disinfect animal cages, exam rooms, and treatment areas
- Assist in cleaning the hospital including: keeping reception desk area and lobby clean and sanitary, taking out the trash, laundry, cleaning floors, bathrooms, exam rooms, and kennels
- Assist in properly restraining patients for blood/urine collection
Experience in the animal field is preferred, but not required!
