Job Title: Billing Specialist
Job Overview: As a Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our organization by accurately and efficiently handling the billing process. You will be responsible for generating invoices, verifying billing information, and ensuring timely collection of payments. Your attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with both clients and internal teams will contribute to the overall success of our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Billing Coordination:
- Collaborate with various departments to gather information necessary for billing purposes, including, but not limited to:
- gathering and scanning operative reports for use by other members of the Billing team
- reviewing unfiled claims to determine reasons for claims in unfiled status (i.e., waiting on amended notes, missing documentation, etc.)
- Ensure that billing processes align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
2. Communication:
- Prepare self-pay and out of network estimates and provide to patients in a timely manner
- Communicate with customers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to address billing inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service to maintain positive client relationships.
3. Compliance:
- Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to billing.
- Ensure adherence to legal and company-specific billing standards.
4. Problem Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve billing issues and disputes in a timely manner.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Billing Specialist or similar role inside a healthcare organization is required, and experience inside an Independent Physician Clinic is preferred. Special consideration will be given to the candidate that presents with such experience in a musculoskeletal clinic.
- Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding preferred.
- Strong understanding of billing processes and financial principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with modern technologies such as the Microsoft 365 suite of applications, Adobe, and various electronic health records systems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of ethical personal and professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
