Network Administrator

Chipton-Ross is a leading supplier of contract and permanent labor services to the world's largest Aerospace, Manufacturing and Information technology companies in the world and we are seeking an outstanding candidate to fill our Mid-Level Network/System Administrator role.

*** Candidates must live in close proximity to the Data Center in Long Beach as they may need to go in during emergency circumstances. ***

This is an entry level position with the potential of advancement.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Working knowledge of basic routing and VLAN principles required.
-Working knowledge of network cabling and wiring, including premise wiring and testing, troubleshooting of network problems.
- Help desk/desktop experience, Windows troubleshooting experience, excellent customer service skills, must be able to solve complex computer problems involving a variety of mixed components and network configurations.
- Basic understanding and some experience with email and email clients, POP3, SMTP and IMAP protocols.
- Basic understanding and experience with Windows network architecture, including domain structures and Active Directory and DNS system interactions.
- Basic understanding of advanced firewalls and routers, IPSEC security and SSL security, and VPNs.
- Basic understanding of basic network concepts, including TCP/IP and Ethernet protocols.

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must be willing to work any shift if needed.
- Must have excellent analytical and communication skills with ability to adapt to new technology quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configure/install/support software (COTS and proprietary), hardware, and corporate network.
- Configure/maintaining routers, firewalls, switches
- Configure/maintain/install/remove servers
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying and ensure that all systems are running in optimal conditions, ensure security and efficiency of infrastructure.
- Perform and check daily backup operations to ensure that data is backed up to appropriate media and test backups regularly.
- Apply OS, firmware, and appliance patches and upgrades, configure and/or add new services as necessary.
- Manage firewall, anti-spam, anti-virus applications- Building, deploying and supporting PC computers.
- Support and troubleshoot Desktop PC's and notebooks, Windows.
- Requires travel to office locations around the south bay area as needed (10%)

Education:
B/S or equivalent work experience
Work Hours:
Full-Time, on-site

SHIFT:
5 Days/40 hrs.
