What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network and Systems Administrator position at Chipton Ross Inc.?
Candidate will serve as the primary contact for system/user support issues and support.
Responsibilities:
Provide helpdesk support to users and escalate issues as needed.
Configure routers, firewalls, switches, VOIP phones, fax servers, printers, and other network appliances.
Building, deploying, and supporting desktop computers and servers in a windows environment.
Support and troubleshoot Desktop PC's, notebooks, servers and standard desktop applications.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying and ensure that all systems are running in optimal conditions.
Perform and check daily backup operations to ensure that data is backed up to appropriate media and test backups regularly.
Apply OS, firmware, and appliance patches and upgrades, configure and/or add new services as necessary.
Manage firewall, anti-spam, anti-virus applications
Write memos, instructions for users; create, maintain, and update network diagrams.
Must assist in network cabling and wiring, including premise wiring and testing, troubleshooting of network problems.
Support IT staff and assist with projects and tasks on an as-needed basis.
Perform basic data center building maintenance tasks on an as-needed basis.
Perform basic office administration tasks.
Required Experience & Skills:
2 years of system administration (required)
2 years of experience with Windows 10, Windows Server (required)
2 years of experience with Windows active directory, dns, hyper-v (required)
2 years of networking experience (configuring, administering, maintaining, troubleshooting) (required)
Ability to administer servers, network, and security
Help desk/desktop experience, PC build and troubleshooting experience
Proficient experience with Microsoft Office suite and standard windows applications.
Hands on experience with configuring, deploying, and maintaining networking devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, wifi, VPNs, and other networking appliances.
Experience with configuring, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting backup, Antivirus, antispam software
Basic understanding of basic network concepts, including TCP/IP and Ethernet protocols.
Working knowledge of Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange
The willingness to learn and explore new ideas, designs, and concepts.
Must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 45 lbs
Must be willing to work any shift and be available on call when required.
Must have excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills
Preferred Experience & Skills:
Microsoft Exchange
Knowledge of T-SQL, ability to run reports and analyze data.
Web Server maintenance and configuration (websites, certificates, dns)
Education:
Candidate should possess a STEM degree or relevant work experience
