Chipton-Ross is seeking a Test Engineer for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
This position is 100% onsite.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
o Testing and troubleshooting of aircraft sub-systems such as :
o fuel systems, pumps, valves, actuators, hydraulics, electrical
o Acting as Test Conductor / Director for air vehicle testing
o Authoring air vehicle system (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, etc.) test procedures and plans
o Identification and operation of specialized test equipment
o Wire harness and interconnect installation / integration
o Aircraft Sub-systems assembly and integration
o work instruction authoring and work planning
o Hands-on production floor support (Direct ownership and support of specific operations as well as interface with touch-labor employees)
o Hands-on experience with Ground Support Equipment (GSE), such as hydraulic mules, power carts, cooling air carts, etc.
o Knowledge of common airworthiness, Quality, and manufacturing requirements for air vehicle validation
o Ability to develop testing setups with little direction or information
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
o Responsible For Identifying Operational Testing Needs And Executing Strategic Planning Initiatives For Creating A Safe And Efficient Shop Floor Testing Environment
o Work In Parallel With Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Environmental Safety & Health And Production Operations
o Create Manufacturing Test Engineering Statement Of Work Contractual Requirements
o Interface With Shop Floor Management & Shop Floor Personnel To Help Troubleshoot And Resolve Vehicle Test Issues And Implement Process Improvements To Increase Efficiency
o Create Shop Aid Tooling, Analyze Shop Floor Performance And Support The Quality Organization In Root Cause Analysis And Corrective Action Activities For Process-Related Defects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
o Experience and knowledge of typical Flight Line operations and ground support activities
o Demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills required in a team environment
o Ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical audiences
o Development / protype / first article program support
o Jet engine integration
o Jet engine service and maintenance familiarity
o Ability to determine the required regression testing during air vehicle rework, maintenance, or troubleshooting
o conducting Safety Briefs / Huddles prior to testing in order to ensure team safety, FOD compliance, and efficiency during test events
o Ability to understand aircraft system operation to an IPT level for all air vehicle systems
o Experience testing protype air vehicles
o Strong knowledge of all phases of manufacturing
o Manufacturing Engineer type role previously held
o Teamcenter and Catia V5 software usage
o STEM type degree

Accredited Bachelors' Degree

Full-Time 4 / 10 work schedule 1st Shift
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
