Position Objective
Performs intermediate work assisting in the daily office functions, including customer service via phone and front counter, maintaining property tax records, department mailings, and tax payments, and related work as apparent or assigned. Assists with elections and processing absentee ballots and voter registrations. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the County Auditor-Treasurer.
Essential Functions

- Primary duty is the coverage of front counter and answering telephones to ensure appropriate customer service for the department.
- Assist with various preparation and distribution of correspondence and notices to property owners.
- Collection of property tax and all other receipts of the County. Accurately collect, receipt, and record all revenue collections.
- Processes and meters out-going mail. Responsible for collecting and routing incoming mail for the Auditor-Treasurer department.
- Assists with maintenance of property tax records to ensure accuracy of County records.
- Assists election administration with the distribution and processing of absentee ballots, processing of voter registration applications and Election Day duties as necessary.
- Performs other job-related duties and basic auditing functions as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Skill in the operation of a computer and other routine office equipment
- Ability to learn the guidelines, policies and procedures of the department.
- Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with a wide variety of people and establish/maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must possess ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagrams or schedule forms.
- Ability to make routine mathematical computations with speed and accuracy.
- Must possess ability to solve problems and determine appropriate course of action.
- Must be proficient in MSWord, Excel and Outlook.
- Must maintain confidentiality of all non-public information.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and moderate experience, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
