Community Services Coordinator
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Update, collect and compose the CHISPA multi-family resident demographic data from the Affordable Housing Module (YARDI). Identify services and activities needed and desired; solicit resident input on satisfaction with service provider programs and activities;
- Coordinate and or participate in programs to ensure successful operation of scheduled services;
- Update and coordinate community room calendars with resident managers and community services providers;
- Update and monitor proposals, contracts, insurance certificates, policy for use of community rooms, key liability agreements and memorandums of understanding;
- Coordinate and monitor assigned volunteers and evaluation work of volunteers;
- Conduct orientation and/or training sessions for volunteers and student interns;
- Serve as a liaison between Community Services Department, CHMI staff, service providers and residents;
- Provide assistance with grant writing, grant reporting and gathering data for grant proposals;
- Provide administrative support to the community services department; Assisting with preparing presentations (PowerPoint); Assisting with preparing for events (CHISPA Annual Event, Grand Openings, etc.)
- Provide additional support and information, as needed, to various CHISPA departments;
- Completion of assigned tasks within time allotted and strict adherence to deadlines;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Communications and Community Engagement Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A four-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent in combination with education and related experience such as working with community organizing, tenant or social organizations;
- Must be able to speak, read and write English and Spanish;
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Must have good writing skills and be able to prepare business correspondence, memos, letters and grant applications;
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with timeliness and accuracy;
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision;
- Ability to analyze situations and recommend or take appropriate actions;
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and organizations contacted through the course of work;
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-cultural setting and with a variety of individuals from varied socio-economic backgrounds;
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects and/or deadlines
- w Ability to operate office equipment including personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine and ten-key calculator;
- Ability to work evenings and weekend hours as needed for community events;
Must have a serviceable and insured automobile, valid California driving license and proof of automobile insurance.
