Description
Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for injection molding machines, robotics, auxiliary equipment (dryers, chillers, grinders, conveyors), and facility systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and lead troubleshooting efforts.
- Ensure compliance with equipment manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors for machine repairs, part orders, and service contracts.
Supervision & Team Leadership:
- Direct and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and evaluating performance.
- Provide training on machine maintenance, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain clear documentation of maintenance schedules, repair logs, and work orders using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and enforce policies to reduce workplace hazards.
- Maintain accurate compliance records for audits and inspections.
Process Improvement & Cost Management:
- Identify opportunities to increase machine uptime, reduce waste, and improve energy efficiency.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to implement upgrades and process improvements.
- Manage the maintenance budget, including spare parts inventory and cost reduction strategies.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Mechanical Knowledge: Expertise in machines, tools, and maintenance techniques.
- Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze issues and implement effective solutions.
- Leadership & Coordination: Supervising and motivating maintenance personnel.
- Preventative Maintenance & CMMS: Familiarity with predictive maintenance strategies.
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of PLC systems, robotics, hydraulics, and electrical controls.
- Safety & Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety regulations
Qualifications
Experience
- 7 years of maintenance experience in plastic injection molding or manufacturing environment.
- 4 years of supervisory or management experience in maintenance
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance.
- Certifications in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance (e.g., CMRT, CMRP) preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call support.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Working near high-speed machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Exposure to heat, noise, and industrial chemicals.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of 50 lbs. or more.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
